Dundalk continue the pursuit of Plate and Cup

Dundalk continued their involvement in the Provincial Towns Plate with a comprehensive win over visitors Clondalkin at Mill Road on Sunday last.
Dundalk scorers were T.C., who scored the first try, Gerard Scully scored the second try with Owen Mc Nally scoring two to keep up his recent good run of form. John Smith scored the final Dundalk try  and Chris O’Hanlon was very unlucky not to add to Dundalk’s tally when he was just held up by the opposition tacklers.
Ultan Murphy had a good day with the boot converting all the tries bar one and also slotting over a penalty. Dundalk won 36 – 0.
As I write. the date and time of the Plate Final with Newbridge is being finalised so keep an eye on your texts and e-mails for notification of time and venue, which could be sooner rather than later as Newbridge are involved in the semi final of the Seconds Towns Cup.
Aidan Mulrooney will bring his 3rd’s team to Tullamore on Friday night next for a challenging semi final encounter with Tullamore in the Anderson Cup competition. Tullamore overcame Athboy 10 – 8 last weekend in a close game at Navan RFC.
We wish both our panels the very best in their endeavours over the next week and we hope to see some reward for their efforts over the season.
