Dundalk welcomed Viriginia RFC on Sunday 13th January at Mill Road. Weather conditions weren’t great with rain and sleet making playing difficult for both teams. Virginia started off strongly with a try in the opening minute of the game. Dundalk ladies quickly settled down into their game and equaled the scrore within five minutes. Play was very competitive and both sides played a hard and energetic game, hugely entertaining to watch.

However Dundalk proved too hard to overcome, with brilliant ball handling and defending. Superb team effort by all with particularly good defending by Meadhbh O’Callaghan and Zoe Valentine. Brilliant Tries scored by Sophie Murtagh, Meadhbh O’Callaghan, Aoife Malone, Ellen O’Hara and Ruth Hanna.

Coaches Suzanne Flynn, Chris Scully and Maria Cartwright were delighted with play and look forward to their next game away to Rathoath at the end of January.
