DUNDALK RFC HOSTS THE 2013 LEINSTER U11 COYLE MINI RUGBY FESTIVAL

Dundalk RFC had the honour to host the Leinster U11 Coyle Mini Rugby Festival on a sunny Saturday 20th April morning, and laid on a great welcome and tournament for all the players and visitors who made the Journey up the M1.

2O U11 Clubs from all over Leinster were present on the day, with over 300 players participating. Well done to New Ross from the sunny south east who were on the road to Dundalk before 7am.

A ‘Barbarians’ type team with a player from each club present at the Festival was assembled on the morning, and this team as predicted, raised a few eyebrows when they began to find their form, narrowly losing out whilst running in 3 tries in their third and last match Vs Mullingar.

There is no Silverware cups or knockouts at Minis rugby level. All the players are included and are winners. The emphasis is on fun and participation and every player went home with a well earned Leinster medal.

Lots of happy kids, coaches and parents afterwards, where lots of new friendships were made on the day, ably catered for and looked after by the Club on the Hill, who ran a first class Festival.
