Under 9s Vs Boyne 6/10/2013

Dundalk U9s kicked off their season with a match against their neighbours Boyne on Sunday morning. Favourable weather conditions really encouraged some fine rugby from both teams. Dundalk fielded two teams from a very healthy squad of 25 players.

Dundalk A opened proceedings a little sluggishly and Boyne scored a couple of early tries. Dundalk finally got on their game with some surging runs from Cian McGuiness and Luke O Connell with Oisin Nash and Enda Dooley taking advantage and scoring some fine tries. The match ebbed and flowed and finally resulted in a draw.
The lads started their second game much better with twins Thomas and Liam McNamara to the fore as Dundalk took the lead early on. Some stout defending by Ryan Martin and Eoin Purton kept Boyne at bay with DD Reilly and Eamonn Donnelly scoring some fantastic tries as Dundalk ran out easy winners.

The other team got into their groove right from the off with Daniel Cartwright and Jacob Dunlevy scoring some brilliant tries. Rory Wallace and Michael Carroll disrupted Boyne expertly at the breakdown with Euan Malone and Jake Kenny reaping the benefits.
